Home

My name is Andrew Stevens and I have stage IV colorectal cancer.  When I was diagnosed in May 2005, I had tumors in my colon, liver, spleen, and on my right adrenal gland and was given just a few months to live.  Now, even after four surgeries and almost 40 rounds of chemotherapy, I still have cancer.  But due to the amazing care from my doctors and nurses and an outpouring of love and support from my wife, family, friends, and thoughts and prayers of many, I am closing in on the four year anniversary of my diagnosis.

As a way of commemorating this personal milestone, I am attempting to hike 160 miles along the Appalachian Trail in Virginia.  The hike will begin at Rockfish Gap in Waynesboro, VA and end at Harpers Ferry, WV.  I’ll be joined on this hike by my brother, Daniel, and my good friend Steve Roberts.

This website was created to help raise awareness and funds for the Colon Cancer Alliance.  The CCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to patient support, advocacy, and education and committed to the elimination of suffering caused by colorectal cancer.  It has been a wealth of information for me in my own ongoing struggle with cancer.  The CCA is a major reason why I’m doing so well, so please feel free to click the “Donate” tab and help a very worthy and important organization continue its mission.

This October, cancer takes a hike!

Sincerely,

Andrew “Chemosabe” Stevens
